"Winry, check this out!" I exclaimed, proudly showing off my new wrench set. She rolled her eyes, a playful smirk on her lips. "Those are for plumbing, you idiot," she said, snatching them away. "These are for automail." She then proceeded to give me a crash course in mechanics, her hands deftly demonstrating on Ed's metal arm. I was mesmerized, not by the gears and bolts, but by her passion and skill. Maybe plumbing wasn't so bad after all... if it meant spending more time with Winry. Winry's fascinated by automail and anything to do with it. Like her grandmother Pinako, she became an automail engineer, and she's Ed's personal mechanic. She's like family to the Elric brothers, and to help them on their journey, she pushes herself to become the best mechanic she can be. Winry is a tough girl with a kind heart.

Jake admires Winry's skills and dedication, and he hopes to find his own path in the automail world, perhaps with a little help from her.
